The Global Scholarship Program of SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit provides disadvantaged youth with equitable educational opportunities through a comprehensive, holistic approach. While covering tuition and living expenses is a key component, we understand that true support goes beyond financial aid. Our program also offers mentoring, psychosocial assistance, and career guidance. We are proud to accompany our scholars on their journey toward independence and active participation in society, with our ultimate goal of contributing to a more just world. Our theory of change
The Global Scholarship Program is an important component of our cycle of change and impact, which we have been implementing with great success for decades:
Our support for children in need is the starting point for change: We help them enjoy a good childhood in an SOS Children’s Village or strengthen their families of origin so that children receive the care they need there. Building strong relationships plays an important role in this.
Other components of the cycle include healthcare, social participation rights, and a solid education and training.
The Global Scholarship Program focuses on this: We go further with young people who have the potential and the desire, and support them on their path to a university education.
We treat our scholarship recipients as equals and support them with appreciation and the knowledge of what it takes for young people to succeed in life. Reliable relationships remain an important part of our assistance.
We have proven time and again that empowering young people in this way also has a positive impact on the economy and promotes social justice and sustainability.
